Drill Bits & Hardware

Had a fantastic time at the 35th annual Greenlawn Antique Show in Long Island. Superstorm Titian shrank and conveniently moved south. I met a lot of collectors and tried to get a pulse on what people were searching for. "Eclectic" is the word that comes to mind. I found a vintage drill bit holder with old drill bits, cleaned the wood, and sold it as a piece of art. I placed vintage keys on a wooden antique pinball/bagatelle game - and voila!--Wall Art. A vintage wire bowl filled with odds and ends, including old doorknobs, drawer pulls, and door plates, was placed on a large wooden spool and made a fun display. Vintage Easter, always a top selling category, was a little soft--hmmm could it be the piles of snow outside which prevented everyone's spring mojo to rear its lovely head? Vintage trophies, cameras, and even 60s movie cameras are always in vogue. Old wooden drawers I turned into shelves displaying vials of powdered paint affixed with old labels from Brooklyn, NY, sold. I put vintage bakelite paint brushes in wire flower frogs next to an amateur painting on an easel--some inspiration for indoor creativity until grouchy Old Man Winter skedaddles! A fun time for everyone. Now back to my writing!!
